Your nonrefundable $250.00 deposit made payable to Circles of Women South Central reserves your space for the weekend. The balance of your tuition is due 30 days prior to the weekend you are attending.

Once we receive your deposit we will send you an acknowledgement of your confirmation. If for any reason you do not receive confirmation, please contact our office to ensure that your deposit was received.

Approximately 5 weeks prior to the training weekend you are scheduled to attend, please expect to receive a packet from us via e-mail. We will need you to process and return this packet to us within 10 days. Upon receipt of this packet of information and about 7-10 days prior to the training weekend we will send you a map to the retreat facility along with a roster of participants and carpooling information.

Matching Fund Opportunity for the Empowered Girl Alliance Program in Texas!!

Circles of Women South Central (CWSC) is pleased to be working in conjunction with the Empowered Girl Alliance in bringing this amazing program to Texas for the first time in 2010.

Imagine what your life would be like if, as a teenage girl, there had been a place for you... a place where you would be heard and affirmed... a place where you could learn to cope with the challenges that faced you in that turbulent time of your life...

The Empowered Girl Alliance (EGA) is making that place for girls ages 13-17, and we need YOUR help.

We are thrilled to announce that we have received a commitment from a generous donor for $5,000 in matching funds for our EGA Texas Program!!

These donations are critical so that we can serve the girls who are most in need of the weekend and mentoring program. This money will help to pay for scholarships, weekend expenses and the year-long mentoring program.

Quick facts about the EGA Program:

The cost of the weekend and the mentoring program is more than $1000 per girl per year
EGA has now held 4 weekends – 2 in Rochester, NY and 2 in Southern California. The first EGA Texas Weekend in will take place on September 10-12, 2010 in Livingston, TX
Over 60 girls have been through the program to date
We know without a doubt that we have changed the course of the lives of many girls already
We have the potential to add another 16 girls to that number WITH YOUR HELP

We ask that you give whatever you can, and that you consider giving donations to the EGA Program in honor of a special girl or woman in your life. Any amount is welcome!

Donating is easy! If you would like to honor a woman in your life or sponsor a particular girl on the weekend, please fill in that information in the “Comments” section of the donation page.

Raising $5,000 for the EGA Program is a huge challenge for our community – and we know we are up for this!

Circles of Women South Central is a Texas Non Profit 501(c)3 Corporation, and all donations are tax deductible. Donation receipts will be provided upon request.

LET'S CELEBRATE MY NGUYEN - Our Angels Of Service Volunteer Award Recipient

We are pleased to announce that the Board has chosen to honor and recognize My Nguyen as an Angel of Service Volunteer.

Since completing her weekend in October 2005, My has volunteered for almost every event held in our community. In addition to staffing 10 weekends, she has helped with the past four Annual Garage Sales, served as an assistant for many Celebrations, spoken at several Warrior graduations as a Woman Within ambassador and led One Day Staff Trainings.

Each time My has been asked for her help, she always says "yes" with a smile on her face. Her gentle and loving support of women in this community and out in the world is consistent and authentic. Our community is blessed and grateful for My's service, gifts, presence and beautiful spirit. Thank you My for all that you do!!

Circles of Women South Central is Moving to Camp Cho-Yeh

Circles of Women South Central is pleased to announce that in
April 2010 we will begin using a new site!!

Our Woman Within Training (WWTW) weekends will be held at Cho-Yeh Camp and Conference Center in the beautiful piney woods near Livingston, TX.

The facility has recently been updated and we believe this site will be more comfortable and convenient for both participants and staff members. Everyone will be sleeping in suites with real beds, the meeting spaces are comfortable and we will have more privacy in the Conference Center as well as our own private dining room. CWSC will have the ability to choose own our menu for the weekend, and Cho-Yeh is much better suited to handle special dietary needs.

We are excited about this new location, and though it is a little further drive from Houston (about 1.5 hours), it will be much closer for women from the Dallas area to join us. With this new site, many of the weekend job descriptions and list of items to bring with you will be changing, so please review your weekend paperwork carefully if you staff an upcoming weekend. We will need your patience and support as we move into this new space, and will do our best to make this transition as smooth as possible.

Due to rising costs for hosting the weekends, effective with the April 2010 WWTW, the CWSC Staffing Fee will be raised to $ 125.00. Our region has not raised our fees in the past 5 years, and we believe the benefits of this new site will be worth the extra cost. We are grateful that so many of you are willing to share your time, energy and gifts with the women coming to the weekends, and know that we appreciate each and every one of you.

2009 ROSE AWARD RECIPIENTS

Sasha Van Nes has been a member of the CWSC community for many years, and has served in almost every role imaginable. Sasha attended her Woman Within Training Weekend in Delavan, WI in 1992. Over the years she has staffed more than 25 times, including serving as an Assistant Team Leader (ATL) and Team Leader (TL) on many weekends. Several years ago when weekends were held at Land of My Grandfathers, Sasha was the “kitchen goddess”, which included planning, shopping and cooking all meals for the weekends. Sasha has a genuine passion and desire around our region being successful, and her many years of service on our Board of Directors ensured that women would have a place to come when they were ready to begin their journey. Sasha began her service on the Board as Events Coordinator, later served as Vice-President, and finally as President of CWSC from 2007-2009. Sasha led the charge through two years of a much-needed “face-lift” for our region, and was responsible for the transformation from Envision Connection to Circles of Women South Central. Her persistence and dedication paid off, and our new name, new logo and branding, and our beautiful new website are the results of this effort. Sasha has a genuine love for our weekends and for supporting women, and models an amazing balance of heart, leadership and passion in all that she does.

Donna Dolinky completed her weekend at Luther Hill in La Grange, TX in February 2001. Donna has staffed over 20 weekends various roles, served as ATL on many weekends and is now moving towards serving as a TL. She has also staffed many regional and WW Int’l workshops, including several times at Women Empowering Women, One Day Staff Trainings, Open Circles and the Empowerment Circle Guide Training. Donna is always a reliable volunteer at the CWSC Annual Garage Sale and events such as the 2007 Royal Ball. Her passion for Empowerment Circles (E-Circles) and supporting women motivated her to join the Board of Directors in 2005 where Donna served as E-Circle Coordinator in our region for 3 years. During this time she dedicated a great deal of time and energy in revising the E-Circle Manual, and made visits as a “magician” to support E-circles that were having conflict issues or problems. The career that Donna has chosen allows her to be in service to others on a daily basis. She teaches communication skills to children with Carebral Palsy, Down’s Syndrome, autism and other disabilities. Donna is a gentle and patient teacher and mentor for all women, and provides a strong foundation for our community that is reliable and consistent.

We congratulate and celebrate Sasha and Donna as women and as leaders in our community. We are grateful for and are blessed by their gifts, passion, wisdom and grace that they share so freely with our community, and out in the world.

FINANCIAL DIRECTOR

The duties and responsibilities of this position include:

- oversees and manages the finances of CWSC, including bank accounts and Quickbooks Online

- reviews and transmits reimbursements to board members, community members, and manages all vendor invoices and payments as needed

- preparation of financial reports for board meetings,and working with CPA for tax return preparation

All postions require a two-year commitment beginining April 2010, and attendance at monthly board meetings (usually the 2nd Thursday of each month). Mentoring is available for all board positions.

Celebration Coordinator Needed

The CWSC Community is looking for a Celebration Coordinator! This position is a one year commitment that requires our next volunteer to coordinate logistics and supplies for our next 4 celebrations to be held in 2010. There is no pre-requisite for serving in this role, however, it would be beneficial to have attended some past celebrations.

Mentoring is available for this position! There are no time commitments necessary prior to the April 2010 WWTW.

February Weekend Cancellation Notice

Regretfully, the Circles of Women South Central Board of Directors made the decision this week to cancel the February 4-7, 2010 Woman Within Training Weekend at the CRC due to low participant enrollment.

We need your help to ensure that our weekends are full, and our community continues to flourish and grow.

Please share your story with your women friends and family. Invite women to an Open Circle or other events offered in our community. Encourage them to attend and to give themselves the gift of the Weekend. Remember, it takes all of us to make our Weekends happen!!

If you wish to apply to staff one of our remaining Weekends in 2010, please complete a staff application online at www.circlesofwomen.com.

Gayle has a genuine calling for the sacred work and space that E-Circles provide for our members. Our community has been blessed by her generous gifts of time and energy for many years in guiding E-Circles, leading Weekend Intensive E-Circles, One Day Staff Trainings and as a member of the facilitation track. Gayle's passion for our work and supporting women has carried her to the ends of the Earth by staffing in almost every location where Woman Within trainings have been held.

We appreciate Gayle for her wisdom, experience and grace, and we are grateful for her willingness to serve the community in this new role. Please welcome and congratulate Gayle as she begins this new journey!

Pay My Staffing Fee

Staffing fees offset the costs of lodging and expenses associated with each staff member for the weekend. While the actual cost per person is approximately $175 per staff member per weekend, the Board of Directors has voted to subsidize this expense to honor and support the volunteers who donate their time and commitment to this community. The current fee is $125 per staff member per weekend and covers lodging and meal expenses from Friday morning through Sunday brunch. If you wish to support the Circles of Women South Central by paying more than the required fee, it is greatly appreciated.

8 Week Guided E-Circle: This training is offered at the completion of each Woman Within® Training Weekend. The circle meets on a weekly basis from 6:30 pm to 9:30 pm over 8 weeks and training is facilitated by experienced, trained volunteers from the CWSC community

The cost of the Guided E-Circle is $125 and covers the cost of materials and a small stipend for the guides. Please pay your fee by the 3rd week.

POLICY: Circles of Women South Central Inc. will select a staff to meet the physical, intellectual, emotional and spiritual needs of the participants on the Woman Within Training Weekend (WWTW). Circles of Women South Central must abide by the staffing criteria, as outlined by the Woman Within International (WWIL) licensing agreement. PROCEDURE FOR STAFF SELECTION 1. The Circles of Women South Central Staffing Committee will select the staff. The Staffing Committee will include the Board President, the designated Staffing Coordinator, and a Facilitator or Facilitator in Training. 2. The Staffing Committee will finalize selection of staff approximately 45 days prior to the WWTW. 3. Staff applications are available on our web site.
