Financial Assistance Outline & Registration

The intention of the Financial Assistance Policy is to acknowledge a woman’s request, assist her in making this request, and honor her financial need whenever possible.   A woman who chooses to attend a local Woman Within Weekend and cannot afford the full tuition may request financial assistance from Circles of Women South Central. The Board of Directors grants five (5) $300 scholarships per Weekend to qualified candidates.    Due to the large number of requests for financial assistance, a process has been implemented to serve the best interests of all candidates.  While we wish we could honor every woman’s request for assistance, it is not possible at this time.  Please understand that we will do our best to honor your request, however, we must stress that there will be no guarantees.  If you absolutely want to attend a particular Weekend, then you must register and make arrangements to pay full tuition for the Weekend. The process to apply for financial assistance is outlined below:

1. Submit the Weekend Registration form and $150 deposit to Circles of Women South Central payable online or by mail to the address below.  If financial assistance is unavailable, your deposit will be refunded upon request.
     
   
2. Write a letter to Circles of Women South Central stating your need for financial assistance.
   
   This letter should include general information about yourself, and your financial situation.
   
   All applications will be handled with confidentiality, and will be destroyed after the process is complete. We ask that your letter include information about each of the following topics:
   
   
   1. PERSONAL CIRCUMSTANCES – relapses, divorce, death in family, etc.
   2. FINANCIAL HARDSHIPS – single mother, full-time student, unemployed, etc.
   3. EMOTIONAL/BEHAVIORAL PROBLEMS – occurring in life right now
   4. WILLINGNESS – in what areas are you open to change and growth
      
      
3. We also request that you ask someone to write a letter on your behalf supporting your request for financial assistance.  This letter may come from a member of Woman Within, New Warrior, a minister, therapist, friend or relative. Please email this to the address below.
   
   
4. Deadlines for all applications, deposit and letters of support will be as follows:
   
   
   1. FEBRUARY WEEKEND - (Deadline is December 4th)
   2. APRIL WEEKEND - (Deadline is February 28th)
   3. JULY/AUGUST WEEKEND - (Deadline is May 30th)
   4. OCTOBER WEEKEND - (Deadline is August 23rd)

If you miss the posted deadline, your application will be considered for the
following Training Weekend.

1. TIMELINE and EXPECTATIONS  - For more efficient processing, please submit your registration, letter of request and deposit below or by US Mail.  We do not consider your application to be complete until we have received all of these items. We will verify receipt of your items upon their arrival.  If you have not received a confirmation by phone or email within (1) week of sending these items to us, please contact the Center Director by phone or by email to verify that we are in receipt of these items.  We request that you take responsibility to make sure your Letter of Support reaches us by the dead-line date.  Our Scholarship Committee will meet and review all applications within two weeks of the posted dead-line.  You will be  contacted immediately by a member of our committee to discuss the status of your application, and have all of your options explained to you, and they will assist you in taking any further action that may be required.
